Mary Beth Pizzoli
Landscapes of Northern New Mexico
Santa Fe New Mexico

Mary Beth Pizzoli has lived in  northern New Mexico since childhood, when her family moved from St. Louis, Missouri, to Taos, New Mexico.  As a pre-teen and teenager, she studied with well-known Taos artists and through their mentoring won a scholarship to the summer art institute at the University of Kansas, which she attended when she was only 14.

Pizzoli has lived in or near Santa Fe since 1958.  Her BA is in Management, and she was a Human Resources manager for many years while continuing to paint and study art.  She took an early retirement in 2000 to travel and paint and has been a full-time working artist since then.

Pizzoli is affiliated with several northern New Mexico artists' groups.  She is on the Board of the Santa Fe Society of Artists, which is celebrating 26 years of weekend shows in downtown Santa Fe.  She has been represented by galleries and poster shops in Santa Fe, Taos and Angel Fire.  Her paintings have been reproduced on the covers of catalogs and a music CD.  Pizzoli has shown in many juried art festivals all over the Southwest, and she has received awards for her art.  She has painted many commissioned works and continues to accept commissions.  Many of the images shown in the website are available as limited edition prints.

Most of her landscape paintings depict the extraordinary scenery of Northern New Mexico.  Having designed and built two adobe homes with her family, she loves to paint the old adobes and churches in the mountain villages near Santa Fe and Taos.  She is an avid gardener so many of her paintings are of the gardens and garden gates, flowers and trees of this area.  Other favorite subjects are the rivers, streams and mountains near her home.  Regardless of the subject matter, her goal is always to capture in a serene manner the light that is unique to Northern New Mexico.
